CL&P Addressing Outage Issue in Southington

Three percent of the town is currently without power, most in the northwest corner of the community, as officials investigate the cause.

Connecticut Light & Power staff are currently working to address an outage issue in the northwest corner of Southington that has left 3-percent of the community without electricity, staff with the company said Wednesday morning.

According to the CL&P storm center, there are currently 757 people without power and most of those outages are in the area of Jude Lane and Mount Vernon Road. The cause of the outages was not immediately available.

Crews were called to the scene around 10 a.m., just shortly after the outages were reported, according to town officials. No timeline has been given for when power may be restored.

Police said the outages have not caused any issue on Southington roads, despite lying close to the busy West Street corridor.
