An Old Turnpike Road couple is facing several charges in a shoplifting case after police said the two attempted to confuse employees and steal multiple items from the CVS on Main Street.

Officers took Thomas W. Schafrick, 43, and Jessica N. Hayes, 29, both of 5 Old Turnpike Road, were taken into custody late last week, police said. Each was charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and released being given a summons.

Police said that on Feb. 8, the couple entered where each went in a different direction. A few moments later, employees said Schafrick approached the register with tampons, sanitary pads and Clorox cleaning spray but told the clerk he was waiting for his girlfriend.
