Creating a Public Disturbance Leads Light Day for Police

Arrest logs through June 2, 2011.

The Southington Police Department has issued 10 new seatbelt infractions and another infraction for a cellphone violation. In all, that now represents 148 tickets issued during the Click-It or Ticket campaign – 90 for seatbelt violations and another 58 for cellphone violations.

Those numbers are likely to rise as police had a seatbelt checkpoint established along Queen Street on Thursday afternoon.

Worth noting, no one has been given tickets for both seatbelt violations and cellphone violations at the same time as of yet.

Southington police also reported the following citations:

Bryan J. Gionet, 28, of 12 Darling St. in Southington, was cited on one count of creating a public disturbance.

Kevin D. Matney, 28, of 393 Hobart St. in Southington, was cited on charges of operating an unregistered motor vehicle and failure to carry insurance, May 31.
