Drink Denied: Southington Woman Calls in 'Shooting Threat' After Being Rejected at Bar

Shauna Edwards, of Southington, is facing several charges after she called in a potential "shooting incident" at a West Hartford bar when the bartender denied her a drink.

By Patch Local Editor Ted Glanzer.

A Southington woman has little reason to celebrate after her response to being denied a drink at a West Hartford bar landed her in handcuffs.

Shauna Edwards, 23, is facing several charges after she called police to say people were going to “shoot up” McLadden’s Irish Publick House after she was refused a drink at the establishment on Dec. 28.

According to police, Edwards, of 180 Southborough Road, also threatened McLadden’s bar owner in front of officers when they arrived.

Edwards was charged with second-degree falsely reporting an incident, second-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening. She is scheduled to appear in Superior Court on Jan. 9.
