Drug Charges, DUI and Domestic Arrests

Police reported a variety of different arrests and citations in a busy week so far.


With traffic stops leading to drug arrests, calls for domestic cases and DUIs, it’s been a busy week for police. Officers made seven arrests in the past week and have continued to enforce distracted driving and seatbelt laws as part of the annual campaign.

Since Monday, the department has reported a total of 19 additional tickets for cell phone violations and 36 infractions for seatbelt violations.

The also reported the following arrests:

Evan T. Merola, 19, of 65 Algonquin Drive in Wallingford, was charged with disorderly conduct, Nov. 14.

Ryan Collin, 27, of 111 Raynor St. in Southington, was charged with first-degree failure to appear and two counts of second-degree failure to appear, Nov. 14.

Giuseppe Vitarella, 34, of 42 Victoria Drive in Southington, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, third-degree criminal mischief and interfering with an emergency call, Nov. 15.

Christopher Webb, 31, of 10 Townhouse Road in Broadbrook, was charged with third-degree forgery, possession of a forged prescription, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and operating an unregistered motor vehicle, Nov. 11.

David R. Kelly Jr., 45, of 40 Savage St. in Southington, was charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor, Nov. 15.

Casey Molaver-Gietek, 21, of 292 Pattonwood Drive in Southington, was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree criminal mischief, Nov. 15.

Roger Collin Jr., 57, of 111 Raynor St. in Southington, was charged with driving under the influence, Nov. 15.
