The Southington Police Department announced Friday that it has a job opening, and no experience in law enforcement is required.

The department on Friday posted the following to it's Facebook page, offering a 32 to 40 hour per week job as a police dispatcher. Dispatchers are responsible for coordinating communication and dispatch for police, fire and EMD services.

Public Safety Dispatcher (Telecommunicator) Collective Bargaining Position: The Southington Police Department is seeking a Public Safety Dispatcher to work within the Southington Police Department Communications Division. Dispatchers are required to dispatch Police, Fire and provide EMD Services. Interested applicants must complete an application and submit a resume.
