Fall Click-It or Ticket Campaign Underway

Police statewide are sending a message that driving without a seatbelt, driving drunk and driving distracted is unacceptable.

Southington police will be partnering with agencies across the state to participate in the Fall 2011 statewide "Click it or Ticket" campaign from Nov. 14 through Nov. 27.

Sgt. Lowell DePalma said on the Facebook page that there will be a concentrated effort via checkpoints, saturation patrols and routine patrols throughout the next few weeks.

"The primary function of the campaign will be for seatbelt and child seat enforcement; however, DUI, speeding and other traffic related violations will also be enforced," DePalma said on the Facebook page.

"The intent of these enforcement programs are to remind motorists to always use good highway safety sense: Obey all traffic laws, always buckle up, obey posted speed limits...and never drink and drive!"
