UPDATE: Fire Reported at the Aqua Turf in Southington

Update 11:15 a.m.

A fire has caused some damage at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington, although extent is not clear yet.

Shift Captain John Folcik said there are still fire crews on the scene at the popular banquet hall, although the crews are starting to return now. He said there was a fire in aprt of the bakery although he's waiting to get an update on where if it spread further.

There were no injuries. The incident is still under investigation.

Folcik said part of the Aqua Turf is now open and that the facility is letting employees and guests back in to some parts. Health department officials are also on scene, he said.

The Aqua Turf is a multi-roomed banquet facility that has dance floors, ballrooms and other administrative offices.

Southington firefighters responded to a fire at the Aqua Turf Club in the Planstville section of town Friday.

An official at the Southington Fire Department said around 9:50 a.m. that firefighters are wrapping up the scene.

The department responded earlier this morning.

The Aqua Turf is a popular reception and banquet hall in the area.
