South End Burglary Suspect Held On Bond

Police said the Cheshire man broke into a South End Road home and fled after finding it was occupied.

A judge ordered a Cheshire man held in lieu of a $99,000 bond after Southington police said he was taken into custody last week in connection with a home burglary on South End Road, only to be scared away by one of the home’s residents.

Adam Franco, of 68 Moss Farms Road in Cheshire, was arraigned in Bristol Superior Court Monday on charges of second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and attempt to commit fourth-degree larceny. He remains in custody, according to court records.

An incident report from the said Franco, 28, had entered the South End Road home just before noon on Wednesday.

When a resident of the home appeared, however, Franco was scared off and fled from the house heading south. The house number and name of the victim were no released.

Franco was found in Cheshire around 2 p.m. Friday, police said, and was taken into custody after he matched a description of the suspect. Police had already determined who he was, Southington police said, and were able to give the information to Cheshire police.

Further details of the case have not been released.

Franco is due back in Bristol Superior Court on September 20, according to the court records.
