House Full of Pot, DUI Tales and Close Calls with the Law
A roundup of remarkable police reports from around Connecticut
A small yellow house at 514 Trout Brook Drive in West Hartford apparently was a greenhouse, too. Police seized more than 80 marijuana plants and 5 pounds of pot in a raid on the two-bedroom ranch-style home. Detectives confiscated equipment used to grow and conceal the odor of the marijuana, including high-intensity lights, lighting timers, fans, transformers and plant food, police said. Athicom A. Sukisame, 29, of 7 Madison Road, Glastonbury, was charged with six felony narcotics offenses, including the sale of a controlled substance and two counts of operating a drug factory.
A Simsbury man was arrested after he got into someone else's vehicle, which then rolled across a parking lot, Avon police said. The owner returned to the vehicle and called police after noticing a stranger inside. George Muzytschenko, 65, of 11 Robin Road, Simsbury, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence.
Farmington police said a driver from New Britain hit a parked car, left the scene and then fell asleep in his heavily damaged car -- and that's where officers found him. Shannon Neron, 29, of 149 Lincoln St., New Britain, was arrested on charges of evading responsibility, misuse of plates, driving without insurance, driving without a license, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, and possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana.
