Man Charged With Attempt to Steal Metal Shelving from Gas Station

The following arrest information was supplied by the Southington Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

On July 1, at approximately 1 a.m., Southington Police arrested Wilser Santos, 40, of 25 Belden St., Hartford, and charged him with robbery in the first degree, assault in the third degree, larceny in the sixth degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree, and breach of peace in the second degree.

His court date was July 1 and he was held on a $100,000 bond. It is alleged that Santos was attempting to steal metal shelving outside of the Shell Gas station on Queen Street. A worker tried to stop the theft in progress and was struck with a metal bar, police said.
