A man is facing a second-degree larceny charge stemming from a Southington Police Department investigation into the theft of more than $8,000 worth of copper wire and cable.

According to police, Benjamin M, Fidanza, 27, of Milford, surrendered May 2 to Southington Police after learning there was a warrant for his arrest.

Fidanza's arrest followed the investigation of a theft of copper wire and cable from the Guitar Center on Queen Street between January and April 2013, according to police. The stolen copper wire and cable was taken from a job site at the Guitar Center as part of electrical installation work being performed. Fidanza was an employee of the company hired to do the electrical work at the site, police said. The wire had a value of $8491.56.

Fidanza was released on a $25,000 court set bond and was schedudled to appear May 12 in state Superior Court in Bristol.
