Man Robs People's Bank on Queen Street

Police are searching for a man they said entered People's Bank around 11:20 a.m. and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Detectives are investigating a morning robbery at People’s Bank on Queen Street after employees reported that a man entered a passed a note to a teller before leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said the unknown male, described as a Hispanic man with dark hair and a medium build, entered the 812 Queen St. bank around 11:20 a.m. and passed a note to a teller saying “this is a robbery.” The man stood approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall, according to police.

No weapon was shown and no one was injured, police said. After leaving the bank, witnesses told police that the man entered an older SUV with Main registration plates and left the bank’s parking lot.

The man was wearing a green jacket, blue jeans and sneakers at the time of the robber, police said. Detectives are working with the bank to review security camera.

Further details are not being released at this time. Bank officials declined comment.
