Milford Man Charged After Following Woman To Attack Her, Police Said

A Milford man involved in a Feb. 11 incident at Latern Park in Naugatuck is accused of following her to Southington in order to attack her again later that evening.

A Milford man that police said followed a 26-year-old Naugatuck woman from her home in February and assaulted her in the parking lot in February is now facing charges after police served an arrest warrant on him late last week.

Justin Bohn, 32, of 36 Grant St. in Milford, was booked on the charges following a court appearance in Waterbury Superior Court last week and is facing charges of second-degree strangulation, second-degree assault, second-degree threatening, first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree stalking and disorderly conduct.

Bohn is scheduled for arraignment on the charges on March 30 when he returns to Waterbury Superior Court for charges stemming from a Feb. 18 arrest in Naugatuck on charges from the same case.

Police said the latest charges stem from an incident that occurred in a Southington parking lot after Bohn followed the female victim in his car from her home in Naugatuck up Interstate 84 and onto Queen Street in Southington.

A police incident report said the woman told detectives that she had pulled over in the parking lot of Tropical Tanning, 1173 Queen St., around 2 a.m. when Bohn pulled behind her and proceeded to assault her.

She eventually escaped, police said, and reported the incident to dispatchers just before 3 a.m. by telephone before driving herself to the Hospital of Central Connecticut, Bradley Campus.

Bohn is already facing charges from earlier that evening which was reported on .

The woman told Naugatuck police that on Feb. 11, Bohn attacked her at Latern Park following a night out with her mother because he thought she had been with another man, according to court documents.

After a verbal argument, Naugatuck police said Bohn allegedly grabbed the woman and began choking her by tightening the collar of her coat, then followed her into her mother’s home and proceeded to allegedly sexually assault her. The victim left her house, fearing Bohn may return and soon discovered he was following her along Interstate 84, police said.

He is facing charges of first-degree sexual assault, third-degree strangulation and disorderly conduct stemming from the Feb. 18 arrest by Naugatuck police, court records show.

Bohn has a criminal history in Connecticut as well, having been convicted of strangulation, breach of peace and reckless endangerment after pleading guilty in 2008. He also pled guilty to marijuana possession in 2009 and burglary in 2004.

Bohn is currently in state custody in lieu of $300,000 in court-set bonds.
