Officers Charge 37 After Finding Underage Drinking Party

A tip led officers to find a Pheasant Run home filled with underage party-goers and led officers to issue numerous citations as all 37 in attendance were below the age of 21, according to the Southington Police Department.

Southington police have a message for those under 21 in the community: If you choose to drink alcohol before you are of legal age to do so, you will get caught.

Officers busted an underage party involving drinking over the weekend and issued numerous citations to the 37 in attendance, all of which were under the age of 21, according to information provided by the department on Monday.

Sgt. Jeffrey Dobratz said officers were dispatched to the home at 46 Pheasant Run on Friday just before midnight after the department received a tip that underage drinking was occurring at the home. When officers arrived, a police report said they witnessed several people run inside the home and turn off all interior lights.

“While checking the residence, officers found evidence of alcohol use including drinking games, opened and unopened beer cans and opened and unopened liquor bottles,” Dobratz said. “Upon entering the residence, Officers located 37 people throughout the home.”

The following, along with three Southington residents under the age of 18, were each issued citations for possession of alcohol by a minor:

In addition, Pheasant Run resident Stephen G. Feeney was take into custody on charges of permitting a minor to possess alcohol and possession of alcohol by a minor. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond, according to police, and is die in Bristol Superior Court on Aug. 12.
