OMG PD: Neighborly Trust Goes Down the Toilet

A Vernon man's home is burglarized when he lets a neighbor in to use his bathroom, police said.

The case:
Police charged a Vernon man with home invasion, second-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny, police said.

The twist:
The accused’s neighbor ended up with a wallet and a watch stolen after letting the accused into his apartment to use the restroom, police said. After using the bathroom and exiting the apartment, the suspect snuck back in through an unlocked door and was discovered in the victim's bedroom, police report. The accused left for a second time, after which the  neighbor noticed the missing items, according to police.

The case:
Police report that they charged two Middletown men with third-degree mischief and disorderly conduct.

The twist:
The two men broke a kitchen table, chairs and left a hole in an apartment wall after one of the accused texted the other’s girlfriend, police report.

The case:
Police charged a Farmington man with breach of peace, according to police.

The twist:
A woman called police after the accused was seen masturbating in the West Hartford Whole Foods parking lot while customers walked in and out.

Hands-Free Phone or Handcuffs?

The case:
Police charged a Hartford man with illegal possession of narcotics, illegal manufacturing, distribution, sale or prescription of narcotics, possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana, plate illegible and use of cell phone while driving, police report.

The twist:
Officers found 70 bags of heroin and $2,000 in cash when they pulled the accused over for using his phone while driving, police said.
