Plantsville Man Facing Charges in 'Significant Sexual Assault' Case

Details of the case remain scarce, but police said the incident included a forcible sexual assault in November 2013.

A Plantsville man is facing various sexual assault charges stemming from a November incident in which he allegedly forced the victim into sexual acts against her will.

Southington police on Monday served a warrant on 29-year-old Jason Archibald. He was arraigned in Bristol Superior Court Tuesday on charges of first-degree sexual assault and second-degree sexual assault.

He remains in state custody in lieu of a $75,000 bond, court officials said.

Southington police said the charges stem from the sexual assault of an adult female in the town of Southington on Nov. 18. Police said information provided was able to help connect Archibald to the incident.

It is unknown whether Archibald knew the victim.

Further details of the case are not being released. Court officials said the warrant is expected to be sealed for 14 days.
