Police Explorers Return to Calendar House for Annual Pasta Dinner

The fundraiser will take place next week.

It's pasta time again - and that means fun and food to support the Southington Police Explorers program.

Southington Police Explorers, Post 57, a youth exploratory program with the , will host its annual pasta supper fundraiser on Wednesday, March 28.

Sgt. Lowell DePalma, an advisor to the program and spokesman for the department, said the annual dinner serves as one of the programs biggest fundraisers of the year.

He said the dinner is a great event because it allows them to do something for the community while also raising money for their annual programs, including explorer academy in the summer.

"These guys have been given specific instructions that they were told they must follow," DePalma said in an interview during last year's fundraiser. "They were told to keep a smile, welcome every visitor and be sure to thank them for coming before they leave."

The dinner will be hosted at the Calendar House, 388 Pleasant St., from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 and are available at the door.
