Police: High School Intern Bought Booze for Student

Southington Police say the Meriden man bought alcohol for a 15-year-old student.

A 26-year-old Meriden man is scheduled to appear in court Monday on allegations that he bought alcohol for a 15-year-old Southington High School student.

Police said the man, Steven F. Bucchieri, was an intern at the time of the incident, which reportedly took place on Halloween of 2013. Southington Police began the investigation after the student spoke with a school administrator about the incident.

During the investigation, Bucchieri was placed on leave. He is no longer an intern at SHS, police said.

The warrant alleges that Bucchieri supplied a 15-year-old student with alcohol. After receiving the alcohol, the student reportedly took it to a party later that night.

There was no physical relationship reported between the student and Bucchieri, police said.

Bucchieri was arrested by warrant on Feb. 28, on a charge of sale or delivery of alcohol to a minor. He posted a $10,000 court set cash bond and is scheduled to appear in Bristol Superior Court on March 10.
