(UPDATED) Parking Ban to be Lifted at 6 a.m. Sunday

The Southington Police Department will lift the parking ban at 6 a.m. Sunday morning.

Southington police will lift the parking ban beginning at 6 a.m. Sunday, but residents are asked to continue to avoid parking along the town's roadways until then.

Winter is officially here with several inches of snow already left around the community.

To allow for plow drivers to clear roads, the has issued a parking ban until further notice. Snow is expected to continue to fall throughout the day before tapering off tonight.

Despite the frigid conditions, the will hold their annual Polar Plunge event as scheduled today, Saturday Jan. 21, at 1 p.m.
