Police Seeking Witnesses to Tuesday Evening Accident

A man struck by a car Tuesday along Queen Street remains at Hartford Hospital and police are looking for any witnesses who may have seen the accident.

A local man suffered significant injuries and remains hospitalized for treatment after being struck by a car along Queen Street in Southington on Tuesday evening, police said. Now officers are searching for help from potential witnesses to recreate the scene.

Southington police on Wednesday said the man, a Southington resident in his late 60's, remains in stable condition at Hartford Hospital after he was struck by a car in the area of Laning Street.

The man's name has not been released. He is said to have a head injury and multiple broken bones, the police report said.

According to an early incident report, the man was crossing the road to get to Laning Street around 6 p.m. when he was hit by a Toyota Prius that had been traveling northbound. The name of the driver has not been released and police are continuing their investigation.
