Pondview Drive Man Charged in Causing Accident During Storm

Police said he ignored the signal of an officer before crashing and initially tried to avoid being stopped for it.

A Pondview drive man is facing charges after police said he was involved in an accident early Sunday morning while ignoring an officer’s signal.

Police issued a summons with a promise to appear to Richard J. Gioia, 40, of 364 Pondview Drive in Southington, for charges of operating a motor vehicle without a license, failure to drive right, evading responsibility in an accident and failure to obey the signal of an officer.

Further details of the arrest were not available as the case remains under investigation.

The Southington Police Department also reported the following arrests:

Tobias H. Johnson, 30, 1829 West St. in Southington, was charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and interfering with a 9-1-1 call, Aug. 25.

Chris J. Bernardini Jr., 23, of 87 Eden Ave. in Southington, was charged with second-degree failure to appear, Aug. 26.

Tyler K Morey, 19, of 1752 Mount Vernon Road in Southington, was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault, Aug. 27.

Norman Morey, 46, of 1752 Mount Vernon Road in Southington, was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault, Aug. 27.

Enzo Ingriselli, 55, of 74 Autran Ave. in Southington, was charged with interfering with an officer during a motor vehicle stop, Aug. 27.

Krista Legnani, 41, of 63 Morrell Ave. in Southington, was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license, disorderly conduct and second-degree criminal mischief, Aug. 28.

George Miller, 47, of 777 Old Turnpike Road in Southington, was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault, Aug. 28.
