Southington Police: Domestics, Larcenies Keep Police Busy to Start Year

The following arrest information was provided by the Southington Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

It’s been a busy start to the year for Southington police with officers responding to a variety of cases in the past week including charges stemming from a November investigation into car burglaries along Eden Avenue. Take a look back at the latest police blotter.

The Southington Police Department reported the following arrests:

Jan. 1

Shana Shaw, 21, of 1829 West St. in Southington, was charged with second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer, Jan. 1.

Jan. 4

Kyle G. Jasonas, 26, of 75 Rethal St. in Southington, was charged with misuse of marker plates and operating an unregistered motor vehicle, Jan. 4.

Jinda Prince, 23, of 500 Canal St. in Plantsville, was charged with disorderly conduct, Jan. 4.

Jan. 5

Rachel L. Petrosino, 25, of 10 Paul Heights in Southington, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, Jan. 5.

Anthony G. Carbonell, 25, of 10 Paul Heights in Southington, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, Jan. 5.

Justine Gettig, 27, of 37 Cornelius Ave. in Waterbury, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, Jan. 5.

Alexander Arroyo, 22, of 43 Academy St. in Southington, was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny, Jan. 5.

Jan. 6

Ahmed A. Haider, 21, of 3 Dora Drive in East Haven, was charged with possession of marijuana, Jan. 6.

Other stats from reported traffic stops and incidents:

  • Two people were cited with operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
  • Two people were cited with using a cell phone while driving.
  • One person was cited with failure to maintain proper lane/drive in proper lane.
  • One person was cited with operating a motor vehicle under suspension.
  • One person was cited with allowing a dog to be a nuisance.
  • One person was cited with allowing a dog to roam without a leash.
  • One person was cited with failure to obey stop sign/traffic signal.
  • One person was cited with operating a motor vehicle without a license.
  • One person was cited with operating a motor vehicle without fenders.
  • One person was cited with possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana.
