Southington Police Investigating Accident Involving Ambulance

An AMR worker suffered minor injuries in a two vehicle accident that closed a portion of North Main Street for a short time Sunday night.

Southington police are investigating the cause of a two-vehicle accident Sunday evening involving an American Medical Response ambulance that caused minor injuries to at least one of the ambulance workers.

The crash, which occurred around 6:30 p.m., caused police to close a portion of Main Street for just under an hour to clear the scene, but no serious injuries were reported according to an initial report.

The two-car crash occurred on North Main Street near the intersection of Curtiss Street. Ambulance workers and the driver of the second car suffered minor injuries, but were able to be treated on scene, according to the report.

Police are continuing to investigate and further details were not immediately available Monday.
