Southington Police: Sexual Assault, Robbery Among Charges in Busy Week

The following arrest information was provided by the Southington Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Officers this week found themselves busy with several big cases, including the arrest of a Plantsville man in connection with a November sexual assault and charging a Southington woman in connection with a robbery in what has been described as a domestic case. Take a look at the latest arrest logs.

The Southington Police Department reported the following arrests:

Jan. 7

Nicholas D. Hearl, 20, of 41 Holly St. in Milford, was charged with interfering with an officer, Jan. 7.

Jan. 10

Jennifer E. Malse, 48, of 74 Summer St. in Southington, was charged with sixth-degree larceny, Jan. 10.

John M. Linnick Jr., 49 of 31 David Drive in Berlin, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under suspension, failure to insure motor vehicle, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and failure to wear seatbelt, Jan. 10.

Jan. 11

Iluminada Vega-Carrero, 51, of 8 Cariat Boulevard in Meriden, was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace, Jan. 11.

Monique Carrero, 26, of 8 Cariat Boulevard in Meriden, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, Jan. 11.

Shakina S. Taft, 31, of 69 Hopsital Ave. in Danbury, was charged with second-degree failure to appear and fifth-degree larceny, Jan. 11.

Cleopatra Shim, 49, of 99 Shelly St. in Waterbury, was charged with sixth-degree larceny, Jan. 11.

Melissa Russell, 24, of 6 Crown St. in Plainville, was charged with third-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny and second-degree breach of peace, Jan. 11.

Jan. 12

Megan Wojtczak, 27, of 124 Oakland Road in Southington, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, Jan. 12.

Jonathan Warner, 28, of 124 Oakland Road in Southington, was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace, Jan. 12.

Jan. 13

William Prokop, 31, of 16 Washington St. in Plainville, was charged with violation of probation, Jan. 13.

William M. Nelson IV, 31, of 160 Laurel Hill Road in Torrington, was charged with first-degree failure to appear, Jan. 13.

Jason Archibald, 29, of 119 W. Main St. in Plantsville, was charged with first-degree sexual assault and second-degree sexual assault, Jan. 13.

Other stats from reported traffic stops and incidents: 

  • Eight people were cited with operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
  • Two people were cited with using a cell phone while driving.
  • One person was cited with failure to maintain proper lane.
  • One person was cited with operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
  • One person was cited with operating  motor vehicle without a license.
  • One person was cited with operating a motor vehicle under suspension.
  • One person was cited with speeding/traveling too fast.
