Southington Teen Faces A Dozen Car Burglary Charges

Southington Police say the charges stem from a car burglary spree in May.


A Southington teen is facing a dozen burglary charges stemming from an apparent car burglary spree in May.

According to Southington Police, Ryan Germaine, 18, of Southington, surrendered to police on July 10 after learning police obtained a warrant for his arrest.

The warrant stems from an investigation into his alleged involvement of multiple car burglaries on May 18, according to police. The warrant alleges Germaine burglarized 12 parked, unlocked vehicles in Southington. Various items were taken from the vehicles which include GPS units, various electronic items, small assorted items, and money, police said.

Germaine was charged with third-degree burglary and one count of fourth-degree larceny. He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear July 21 in court.
