Southington Teens Charged After 14-Year-Old Caught Doing Donuts in a Jeep

Police said a 19-year-old local resident loaned his Jeep to a 14-year-old friend so he could go on a "joy ride."

A 19-year-old Southington man is facing charges after police said he loaned a 14-year-old friend his Jeep Grand Cherokee and allowed the 14-year-old “to go for a spin.”

Officers arrested Xavier W. Ramos, of 75 Germani St. in Southington, Monday on charges of risk of injury to a minor, second-degree reckless endangerment and allowing an underage person to drive. He was released on bond and given a court date of Oct. 11, police said.

Police said the 14-year-old was found behind the wheel of the Jeep in the parking lot adjacent to the after a concerned citizen complained that he was “doing donuts in the parking lot” with parents and children around.

Officers investigated the complaint and found the 14-year-old had borrowed the Jeep from Ramos, who was not around at the time. Both were taken into custody, police said.

Javier Arroyo, 18, of 125 Howard Ave. in Southington, was charged with disorderly conduct, Sept. 20.

Steven A. Cordon, 27, of 172 Shweky Lane in Southington, was charged with second-degree failure to appear, Sept. 26.

Jamal R. Abdelaziz, 24, of 6 Fleetwood Drive in Plainville, was charged with sixth-degree larceny, credit card fraud, third-degree identity theft, criminal impersonation, third-degree forgery and third-degree burglary, Sept. 27.

John McGill, 33, of 217 Dunham St. in Southington, was charged with second-degree failure to appear, Sept. 27.

Robert A. Mokuahi, 22, of 107 Sisson Ave. in Hartford, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, Sept. 28.

Jeremy Jacques, 35, of 37 Rethal St. in Southington, was charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with a 911 call, Sept. 28.

David G. Fay, 35, of 24 Haywood St. in Franklin, Mass., was charged with second-degree breach of peace, Sept. 29.
