Ten Arrests Made in April Fight, Two More Expected

Officers have arrested or issued citations to 10 teenagers who were involved in a fight that included the use of knives and brass knuckles outside an Autran Avenue home in April.

Ten area teenagers have been arrested and two more arrests are expected in connection with an April fight outside a home on Autran Avenue that left two of the teenagers in the hospital with stab wounds and several others with facial injuries.

said Monday that over the past week, officers have served warrants and court summons on a total of ten people who were involved in the April 2 fight, which originally started after police said the group became divided when “a few of the teenagers were arguing over who belonged there.”

“There are still some discrepancies in their stories which make it hard to pinpoint exactly how it started, but it involved a disagreement between two of the teenagers arguing over who belonged at the home,” said Sgt. Lowell DePalma.

After the argument became heated, DePalma said an investigation found that 12 teenagers in all began to fight inside and quickly took the fight outside. At that time, police said a set of brass knuckles and “anywhere between two and five knives” were used in the fight.

One victim was taken to Bristol Hospital and a second to the Hospital of Central Connecticut, Bradley Campus, with stab injuries. Both were treated for non-life threatening injuries and released the same day, police said.

DePalma said after the investigation was completed, the department secured warrants for seven individuals and issued a court summons to three other juveniles for breach of peace.

A 17-year-old, whose name was not released due to his age, was taken into custody on charges of second-degree assault, carrying a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct. The charges stem from his use of brass knuckles during the fight, police said.

The following were arrested on disorderly conduct charges.

  • Thomas McKay, 19, of 1188 Mt. Vernon Road in Southington
  • Jason A. Roy, 19, of 330 Jerome Ave. in Bristol
  • Andrew J. Oricchio, 19, of 104 Richard Ave. in Wolcott
  • Brandon R. Beebe, 19, of 175 Old Mountain Road in Marion
  • Cote J. Nadeau, 19, of 1588 West St. in Southington

A second juvenile was also arrested on charges of disorderly conduct police said. Two more arrests are still expected.

Further details of the case were not immediately available Monday. Those arrested all posted bond and are due in Bristol Superior Court for arraignment next week.
