Traffic Stop Leads to Marijuana Discovery, DUI Incident Nets Arrest

In a lighter set of logs for Southington police, officers made one arrest in an accident caused by a DUI driver and charged three others with marijuana infractions after police said the man driving failed to register his motor vehicle and the marijuana was discovered during a traffic stop.

The reported the following arrests:

Jason W. Hammick, 24, of 30 Loomis Drive in Plainville, was charged with failure to insure motor vehicle, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, improper number of headlights and possession of marijuana, Dec. 15.

Luis A. Navarro, 44, of 30 Stoneycrest Drive in Meriden, was charged with driving under the influence, evading responsibility in an accident, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and unsafe backing, Dec. 17.
