Waterbury Man Arrested in TV Thefts From RV Dealership

Police said Steven Fitzgerald Jr. broke into trailers in May and stole three television sets.

A Waterbury man is facing charges after he was arrested on a warrant Tuesday in connection with the theft of televisions from the Hemlock Hill RV site on Meriden Waterbury Road.

Officers took Steven Fitzgerald Jr., of 128 Old Colony Road in Waterbury, into custody Tuesday morning and booked him on charges of fourth-degree larceny and third-degree burglary.

Fitzgerald, 22, was arraigned in Bristol Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon and released on a promise to appear, according to court records.

Police said an investigation determined that Fitzgerald had entered the trailer dealership in May and broke into several campers.

Owners reported that the thefts included three separate television sets and the burglary led to damage of the campers as well. Further details of the case were not immediately available.

Court records show Fitzgerald is due back in Bristol Superior Court on Sept. 13 and could present a plea at that time.
