Windsor Man Charged in Gas Theft Scheme from Local Business

Southington police said the 35-year-old racked up more than $1,600 in personal charges on a company-issued gas card.

Police have arrested a Windsor man in connection with an April gas card scheme in which officers said he racked up more than $1,600 in charges at area gas stations on a credit card issued to him as an employee of The Gulf Shrimp Company.

Officers took Tikarris Mabry, of 67 Colton St. in Windsor, into custody Sunday morning after he was stopped on an unrelated matter. He was taken into custody and charged with second-degree larceny during arraignment in Bristol Superior Court Monday.

“The arrest warrant was a result of an investigation into Mabry allegedly charging unauthorized fuel charges on his company issued gas card while he was employed at The Gulf Shrimp Company,” Sgt. Jeffrey Dobratz said in a press release.

“The charges totaled $1626.06 between April 1 and April 10.”

Mabry, 35, has since been terminated as an employee with the company.

It was unclear on Monday whether he used the gas card simply to purchase gas or if there were additional purchases made at the area gas stations.

Mabry was being held in lieu of a $10,000 court set bond, officials said Monday, but was expected to make bail following the arraignment.
