Curbside Leaf Vacuuming Continues This Morning

Giant leaf vacuum trucks are their way to your neighborhood. Are you ready?

Now that Hurricane Sandy has blown most of the leaves off the trees and snow has started to melt to expose the piles once again, town workers are out in full force vacuuming them up.

If the trucks haven’t been to your neighborhood yet, here is the schedule for the remainder of the curbside leaf pickups.

  • Nov. 9, into the week of Nov. 12 - 16: West of Route 10 and north of West Center Street.
  • Week of Nov. 12 – 16, into the week of Nov. 19 - 23: West of Route 10 and south of West Center Street.
  • Week of November 19 – 23, into the week of Nov. 26 - 30: East of Route 10 and south of Berlin Street.
  • Week of Nov. 26 - 30: A final pass of the remaining areas, as well as areas affected by the storms.

This week, Southington residents may also bring leaves and brush to the Transfer Station at 617 Old Turnpike Road. The station will be open every day through Saturday, Nov. 10, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
