Southington Remembers 911 on the Tenth Anniversary

Everyone is invited to come to Southington's town-wide tenth anniversary memorial service honoring the 2,976 victims who perished in the attacks on America on September 11, 2001.

Place: Southington High School 
                Fontana Field *

Date: Sunday, September 11, 2011

Time: Gates open 5:00 pm to allow time for the expecte turnout to assemble and be seated before the memorial service starts at 6:30 pm. Early arrival is suggested. 

Admission is FREE.

Patriotic Memorial Service will be a moving and impressive, patriotic memorial has been planned.  

Parking:
Free shuttle bus service from parking lots of DePaolo Middle School and Calendar House and from Walmart Plaza parking n North Main Street.  Buses will return you to your car at the conclusion of the service. 

Front parking at Southington High School is also availablel until spaces are filled. 

There is also parking for handicapped use only between the VOAG building and the athletic field. Entrance on Pleasant Street side of high school. 

On-street parking around the high school will not be permitted. 

Rain Date: In the event of inclement weather, the memorial service will be held 24 hours later on Monday, September 12, 2011 at 6:30 pm, with arrangements as stated above. 

Weather postponement, if any,  to be announced by 1:00 pm Sunday, September 11, 2011.

This is a once in a life-time opportunity for families, friends, neighbors and fellow-townspeople of all generations to come together, honoring the lives of the 3,000 innocent people who died on that historic day of violence ten years ago.
