Residents Invited to Annual 'State of The Town'

Town Council members and municipal officials will talk about where Southington has been and where it is going on Feb. 13.

With government back in full gear and 2014 well underway, it's time to focus on the tasks at hand - and what better way to find out than during the annual Southington State of the Town address.

On Thursday, Feb. 39, the chamber of commerce will host its fifth annual State-of-the-Town dinner at the Manor Inn Restaurant.

The event is open to the public and the format will feature the nine newly-elected council members who will speak on their aspirations for the town for the next two years.

The main address will be given by Council Chairman Michael Ricco, with introductions of the new town planner and town engineer. A question and answer period will follow, with questions presented from all curious residents.

Admission is $15 per person for chamber members and $20 for guests with registration at 6:15 p.m. and a buffet meal at 7 p.m. The program is sponsored in part by Baron Realty and by the Chamber's Legislative Committee.

To register please call the Chamber at (860) 628-8036.
