Southington-Cheshire Probate Court Passes Second Inspection

The combined Southington-Cheshire probate court passes annual inspection.

The following is a news release from Probate Judge Matthew Jalowiec.

The District 18 Probate Court, which consists of the Towns of Cheshire and Southington was inspected recently by the State of Connecticut Probate Court Administration said Judge Matthew Jalowiec. He oversees one of the largest Probate Districts in the state.

Attorney Thomas E. Gaffey, Chief Counsel for the State of Connecticut met with Jalowiec and his Chief Clerk Margherita Bergstrand at the District Courthouse in June to inspect the records and review the daily operations of the court. The inspection report contained positive findings in all aspects of daily court operations and procedures under the new administration.

"I am extremely pleased with the results of our review which illustrate the outstanding job the Court staff does and the level of commitment we demonstrate towards properly serving the community.”  Judge Jalowiec said. “I am very proud that the report reflects our dedication to ensuring that everyone’s constitutional rights are safeguarded. Over the past year and half, I’ve been out in the community holding seminars and giving presentations to spread the news about the services we offer, how we can help, and dispelling the myths about Probate.”
