State of the Town Will Update Local Residents

Town Council members and municipal officials will talk about where Southington has been and where it is going on Jan. 19.


With government back in full gear and 2012 well underway, it's time to focus on the tasks at hand - and what better way to find out than during the annual State of the Town address.

On Thursday, Jan. 19, the will host its third annual State-of-the-Town dinner at the Manor Inn Restaurant. 

The event is open to the public and the format will feature the nine newly-elected council members who will speak on their aspirations for the town for the next two years. 

The main address will be given by Council Chairman Edward Pocock III. A question and answer period will follow, with questions presented from all curious residents.

Admission is $20 per person with registration at 5:30 and a buffet meal at 6 p.m. The program is sponsored in part by Lake Compounce and by the Chamber's Legislative Committee.
