While Washington and Wall Street have always had a close relationship, it appears that financial bond has grown even closer in the past few years.
And the same goes for the majority of Connecticut's Congressional delegation.
According to a CTMirror.org story, which is citing a report from the Center for Responsive Politics, individuals and political action committees connected to Wall Street are the biggest source of campaign donations for U.S. Rep. Jim Himes, who represents the majority of Fairfield County.
These types of donations are also large sources of campaign funding for both of Connecticut's U.S. senators, Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, the Mirror reported.
Himes received $1.8 million in donations from the financial services industry, followed by $1 million to Murphy.
When the news website asked the lawmakers about the donations, many responded that the financial services industry is a key constituency for Connecticut residents.
