There's no sign hanging in the open space along South Main Street in
Plantsville, but next door to Rosina's Pizza sits a vacant storefront
that has gone unused for commercial or industrial use over the past
several years now.
If you had your way, what would be the best fit to fill it?
Let's call this a
modern spin on community planning - Patch's version of a charette, a
digital drawing board where all ideas are on the table.
Each week we'll present a new vacant building and ask you to tell us
what you think would be the best use. Forget what zone it's in,
ignore setback regulations, dump lot coverage rules and all the
other zoning jargon that puts people most to sleep. If you had your
way, what would you like to see there? What would be the best use
for the community?
Located in a plaza that includes a restaurant,
tattoo parlor, karate studio and more sits a vacant space that while
one of the largest in the plaza has served for little more than storage
for existing businesses in recent years.
There may be no sign,
but that doesn't mean the space couldn't be made available. Open your
mind and give us your take on the best use for the space.
Tell Us: What's the best way to move forward with the South Main Street business space?
