Visions for Vacancies: Building Around Lake Compounce and ESPN

There's a lot of space open for development and while rumors have included hotels, restaurants and more, what would you like to see built?

Lake Compounce is thriving, ESPN is expanding and with the busy amount of activity along the northern end of West Street, what's the best business to join the mix?

Let's call this a modern spin on community planning - Patch's version of a charette, a digital drawing board where all ideas are on the table.

Each week we'll present a new vacant building and ask you to tell us what you think would be the best use. Forget what zone it's in, ignore setback regulations, dump lot coverage rules and all the other zoning jargon that puts people most to sleep. If you had your way, what would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community?

This week, we travel to the Bristol town line to a vacant lot located across from ESPN drive and to the east of Lake Compounce.

With a large section - 4.5 acres to be exact - this is a land of promise with numerous possibilities.

We want to know the best way to make that business thrive again. How would you propose to fill the vacant spot? Your thoughts could make a difference, so share your input now!

TELL US: What's the best fit for the north end of West Street?
