ALTA Finds Success in Fundraising with Annual Auction

More than 40 families and participants were on hand for the 15th Annual ALTA Auction Tuesday night.

Any money would go a long way for the students, but organizers were in for a surprise during the 15th Annual ALTA Auction as the total number of participants doubled from the previous year.

The aution, held in the Derynoski Cafeteria, drew more than 100 students, families and school officials as students and staff aimed to raise money for the Alternative Education program Tuesday night.

With everything from gift certificates to art, the auction provided 74 different items and featured a tag sale table for the first time.

School Superintendent Joseph V. Erardi Jr. and school board members Brian Goralski and Terri Carmody were on hand, with Erardi even buying into the auction.

"It's a win-win for everyone and it really shows the power of creating community partnerships," Erardi said.
