Blame it on Snowstorm Pax: No School, Thursday Meetings Cancelled

All Parks & Recreation Dept. sponsored programs scheduled for today have been CANCELLED.  This includes the Inclusive Music Therapy Group, Men's Over/Under 35 Basketball League, Dog Obedience and Zumba Kids classes and all Southington Youth Basketball and Youth Wrestling activities.  

The Turf Advisory Committee at 5 p.m., has been cancelled. The Board of Finance meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m., also has been cancelled.

And so is the fifth annual Chamber of Commerce “State-of-the-Town” Supper with town councilors that was scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 13 at the Manor Inn Restaurant in Milldale.

With about a foot of snow forecast to start falling overnight, Southington is joining districts throughout the state in closing school on Thursday, Feb. 13.

Southington Public and Parochial Schools, all evening classes, all extra-curricular activities and all out-of-town transportation are cancelled, the district announced. All offices, including central office, are expected to open at noon. 

Snow is expected to start around 3 a.m., and last for about 24 hours, according to the National Weather Service.
