'DARE'-ing to Make Good Decisions

Students at the St. Thomas School got a lesson in being a leader and making smart choices through the community DARE program.

The following was submitted by Officer Thomas Gallo of the Southington Police Department. For more, follow the department on Facebook through the link provided.

Students at the St. Thomas School have learned the importance of making smart decisions and the fifth-grade students have taken a dare to remain drug free.

On Jan. 3, the 13 students in the St. Thomas School fifth grade class all passed their DARE examinations and received their diplomas during a special ceremony held at the school for parents, caregivers and family members.

The program is designed to help students avoid bad decisions including recognizing and eliminating bullying, exercising and staying drug free.

Congratulations to the graduates.
