AMERICAN HISTORY WORKSHOPS

Citizens for Community Values of Connecticut (CCV-CT), a grass roots organization promoting values that make communities healthy throughout the state, is sponsoring three seminars entitled “The Rewriting of America’s History” on Oct 14th and Oct 15th in Bristol and Southington.

Dr. Catherine Millard, historian and author, will conduct three different workshops on American history, ranging from an accurate understanding of the Founding Fathers to the origin of the term “separation of church and state."  Dr. Millard is the recipient of the 1990 George Washington Honor Medal sponsored by the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge for Excellence in patriotic and individual achievement and the 1992 Faith and Freedom Religious Heritage of America.  She is the founder and president of Christian Heritage Tours, a multilingual guide service to Washington DC, Philadelphia, Gettysburg, Jamestown, Williamsburg and other historic sites with an emphasis upon American traditions and heritage.

All of Dr. Millard’s works are based on countless hours of research taken from the original writings found in the rare manuscript collection of the Library of Congress. Her knowledge of these men and women come from researching the personal documents and eye witness accounts of the founders of our nation. This is contrary to many other historical works which frequently use secondary sources as primary references.
