Dinner with the Doc: Naturopathic Medicine

Southington Care Center at 45 Meriden Avenue in Southington invites you to attend our Dinner with the Doc program on Naturopathic Medicine with Ken Kirk, Naturopathic Physician.  Naturopathic medicine is based on the belief that the human body has an inherent healing ability.  All living beings possess this innate healing ability which is often referred to as the “vital force”.  If given the proper support and the opportunity to function freely without suppression, the body will tend to restore a state of balance in the system.  Naturopathic medicine integrates traditional knowledge and philosophy with the best of modern medical science and research.  Naturopathic doctors (NDs) diagnose and tailor treatment plans according to each individual, not the particular symptom.  NDs educate their patients to use diet, exercise, lifestyle changes and cutting edge natural therapies to support their body on the journey toward optimal wellness.  Naturopathic physicians base their practice on six timeless principles:  the healing power of nature; identify and treat the cause; do no harm; doctors must also be teachers; treat the whole person; and prevention.  Dinner will be served at 5:00 PM.  Please R.S.V.P. to Southington Care Center at 860-621-9559 or at rsvp@ctseniorcare.org.

Southington Care Center offers skilled nursing and rehabilitation services and is a not for profit member of Central Connecticut Health Alliance.
