runs the Smart Start program for the town.
Recently, this program was handed over to a group called the Giving Back Girls whose focus is giving back to their community.
The Girls are trying something a little different this year to raise money and supplies for the program. On July 22, 2012 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. they will be at at with a bus that was donated by the New Britain Transportation collecting school supplies.
We are calling it “Fill that Bus.”
Last year the girls filled over 350 backpacks for children in need who reside in Southington. We are trying to get the word out to the community so the event will be successful.
