Plans to Promote Breast Cancer Awareness Week at St. Dominic School

Saint Dominic School Encourages Participation
in Make Strides Against Breast Cancer -

Parents and families of Saint Dominic School have been invited to join in celebrating St. Dominic Breast Cancer Awareness week beginning Monday, October 24t
according to Food Service Manager, Darylanne Archambault.

The American Cancer Society has been organizing the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk since 1993.
Over the past eighteen years, nearly 7 million walkers have participated in Making Strides events in more than 200 communities across the country, raising more than $400 million.  Last year alone, over 800,000 individuals participated in Making Strides, raising more than $60 million to help people “stay well, get well, find cures, and fight back against breast cancer”.  The Hartford event brought together 4,000 walkers and more than $6 million was fundraised across New England.

St. Dominic School wants to help these numbers grow in 2011.  During Breast Cancer Awareness Week, we will bring together students, families, faculty, and staff under one common goal:  to do our part in helping find a cure for
this devastating disease.  Students will have the opportunity to fundraise and promote cancer education and awareness through interactive activities.

The itinerary for Breast Cancer Awareness Week is outlined below.  Students can choose to participate in any or
all of the awareness activities and fundraiser options.       All collected dollars will be donated to the American Cancer Society at the close of Breast Cancer Awareness week.
