Put on your favorite sports team attire and head over to the Aqua Turf this Friday night for the fourth annual Fan of the Foundation Gala. The event raises money to support a variety of special initiatives in the Southington schools through the nonprofit Southington Education Foundation (SEF).
Dance, sample from tailgate-style food stations, enjoy an open bar, and take part in both live and silent auctions for an opportunity to win prizes including:
- The chance to be gym teacher, principal, or superintendent for a day
- A reserved parking space at SHS for the rest of the 2012-13 school year
- A game-day experience with the SHS football team
- Walt Disney World park-hopper passes
- Reserved VIP seating for the next SHS graduation ceremony
- A Florida timeshare
- School-designated grants--new this year!
As a special treat, pre-gala entertainment will be provided by Kelley and South End music teacher Elizabeth DiDomenico and her student African drummers. DiDomenico received an SEF grant to buy a complete set of African drums in 2011 and start an after-school drum circle.
Tickets are $75, and the fun lasts from 7 p.m. to midnight.
