Why Go:
The open exercise program provides kids in grades 6 through 8 an opportunity to participate in a variety of activities including open gym, free swim, racquetball, games, and a special feature for the week.
Pricing:
Free for members or $6 for guests when accomanied by a member.

Where/When: From 3:30 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at , 255 Main St., Southington.
Why Go:
Families are invited to the library's meeting room for family storytime. This program is for all ages and features stories and songs designed to entertain everyone from toddlers to teens.

Where/When: Starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at , 396 Mt. Vernon Road, Southington.
Why Go:
Mount Southington is hosting its Winter Carnival with a full day of events and activities for the whole family. There will be food and music on the outdoor deck. The event features an appearance by Pucky the Whale from the Hartford Whalers and Sonar the Wolf, formerly of the Hartford Wolfpack, as well as drawings for hockey tickets and a carboard box race, with the grand prize winner taking home $100 and a trophy.

Why Go: A more advanced storytime for pre-school and kindergarten age children, this educational opportunity helps with growth and early reading.
