It’s Not Your Mommy’s Kindergarten!

The three-workshop series at Southington's Hatton School to help parents prepare children for kindergarten will begin Wednesday.

Sending your child off to school for the first time can be a nerve-wracking experience. A series of workshops sponsored by the Southington schools and the Early Childhood Collaborative of Southington is designed to make the experience smoother—for both children and parents.

The three-workshop series, called It’s Not Your Mommy’s Kindergarten!, helps prepare parents for what their child’s first year in school will entail. Parents, in turn, will be better able to prepare their children to have a positive school experience.

The workshops, presented by specialists, kindergarten teachers and school administrators, will be held on consecutive Wednesdays at Hatton School, 50 Spring Lake Road. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the presentation begins at 6:30 p.m.
