Life's a Beach for Southington HS Seniors

It's quite a drive to the nearest beach for Southington High School students and graduating seniors apparently didn't want to cut class just to get some sand between their toes on Thursday.

After all, it is about a 36-mile drive to the sands of Long Island Sound, according to CTVisit.com.

So the senior class decided they's bring the beach to school, according to NBC Connecticut.

The students arranged to have sand dumped onto an area in the school parking lot where students frolicked in the make-shift beach, complete with beach balls, sand chairs, swimming noodles and kiddie pools.

And not worry, the students arranged for the SHS agricultural program to clean up the beach at day's end.
